GALLOWS & FRIENDS does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

All game data — statistics, win/loss streaks, game history, sound preferences, display mode, and difficulty settings — is stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.

WHAT THE APP SENDS OVER THE NETWORK

To pick a fresh word for each round, the app makes an HTTPS request to the public service random-word-api.vercel.app. These requests contain no personal information, no device identifiers, and no account data — only a request for a random word of a given length.

After each game, the app fetches a definition for the word from the public service api.dictionaryapi.dev. These requests contain only the word itself — no personal or device information.

If the network is unavailable, the app falls back to a word list bundled inside the app and continues to work fully offline. Definitions are simply omitted when offline.

GALLOWS & FRIENDS is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
